brad-foxThe AFA 2014 National Adviser Conference is focused on providing the knowledge and practical tools for financial advisers and financial advice business owners to excel in a rapidly changing advice environment. It’s time to be on the front foot and benefit from the many opportunities that are emerging. It’s time to Innovate: Think. Create. Act.
We have taken a deep look at what we believe it will take to succeed in the new era of financial advice and the conference sessions will highlight these attributes and give you the knowledge to make powerful decisions.

  • Soft Skills and Emotional Intelligence
  • Technical Skills and Advice Strategy
  • Understanding your client and their expectations
  • What it takes to have a great advice business
  • Leadership, Self-Development and Personal Success strategies

When I was advising, I found the opportunity to get together with Australia’s best advisers at the AFA Conference accelerated my thinking, my learning and my results. Valuable connections and friendships were built throughout both the formal learning sessions and the informal collegiate environment unique to the AFA Conference. Everyone shares their best thinking freely.

I look forward to welcoming you to Cairns and sharing this personal development opportunity with you.

MarcA very warm welcome from lovely tropical Cairns, the site of our AFA 2014 National Adviser Conference. As an adviser the Conference has always been a highlight of my year and I look forward to it as a chance to hear, watch and learn from the best, as well as to catch up with colleagues and friends. As such, I am proud to be this year’s Conference Chair.
Australians today have access to financial information 24/7, but information is not always knowledge and our clients need our leadership and guidance more than ever in these uncertain times. As advisers, we are part of a burgeoning profession and we have a lot to be proud of, but we also need to accept the challenge to think differently; to be better prepared for the opportunities and challenges of a post FOFA world. This is what underlies this year’s theme – Innovate: Think. Create. Act.

Those advisers and practices that embrace technology, know how to build stronger relationships, see the importance of branding, understand their value to their clients and can charge appropriately, will always be a sort-after resource to help everyday Australians fulfil their life goals and aspirations. The AFA 2014 National Conference will help provide you with industry leading ideas, practical tools and tips (many from your peers), and formal professional development that is relevant and easily transferable to your advice and business. The conference will help you be the best you can be and to ensure that collectively we build world leading advice businesses that better serve the Australian community.

So I look forward to welcoming you to our national conference, to see firsthand why it is so well attended and grows each year, the culture, the great ‘vibe’ that is felt among our attendees, both first timers and ones like me who keep coming back, and to keep learning as a life-long passion.
